A giant statue of a Buddhist goddess in Japan is currently donning a custom-made mask on her face, thanks to the effort of workers at the site.

According to a report by Reuters the act of covering the face of goddess Kannon known as the Goddess of Mercy, was meant as a prayer to end the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report also quoted Reuters as saying that four workers took three hours to put on the mask.
