We've been saying this for years: Malaysia is truly a magnificent, wonderfully beautiful country.

And now, we have an award to prove it.

A win for our beautiful country

Malaysia has recently won a gold medal at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Award 2020, Malay Mail reported.

According to the news portal, Malaysia won the gold in the “Tourism for All” category through its virtual tourism for senior citizens initiative.

The program was pioneered by Taylor’s University.

Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Musa Yusof told the news portal that the win would further boost the country as a one-stop holiday destination for everyone.

“We hope this year’s achievement can inspire and encourage our (tourism) industry to move forward with more sustainable and responsible initiatives in line with Covid-19 recovery measures,” he was quoted as saying in a statement.

The winners were announced at the PATA Gold Awards presentation on 24 September, as part of the Virtual PATA Travel Mart 2020.

Since its inception in 1984, the PATA Gold Award has been recognising the best and the most excellent tourism standards in the travel and tourism industry.

So, what are you waiting for, guys? This is the perfect opportunity for us to cuti-cuti Malaysia.
