Face masks have become a very crucial and coveted item during the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob made the announcement during a press conference on Wednesday (8 April), during which he shared that a total of 24.2 million face masks are set to be distributed nationwide.

The Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) will be handling over the face masks to the Malaysia Nasional Security Council (MKN) in the respective states for further distribution.

“Each household throughout the nation to get four free face masks,” Ismail said.

The Bera MP also added that the face masks have been delivered in several areas throughout Peninsular Malaysia and the allocation for East Malaysians will be flown in this Friday by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM).

No specific date has been given on when the masks will be distributed.
