Having a case of Monday blues? We have just the news that might chase it away!

The Health Ministry has announced that there's been an increase in the number of Green Zones in the country, which shows that all the suffering people have been going through due to the Movement Control Order (MCO) is finally bearing fruit.

The curve is flattening

Green is a good colour.
The number of Green Zones (districts with no new cases) has increased to 67 as of 26 April 2020.

What this basically means is that we're flattening the curve, and all the data is pointing towards better days.

However, the government will only declare the districts COVID-19 free if there hasn't been any new cases recorded for 14 days.

Since an area is declared as a Green Zone, it is imperative that we don't take this as a chance to be lax about the MCO regulations.

According to Malay Mail, there hasn't even been any new Red Zones declared in the past week despite the additional areas put under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Johor are the three states that still have high number of Red Zones.

As of 26 April, there are currently 13 Red Zones in the whole of Malaysia, which is pretty good sign.

Most districts are categorised as Yellow Zones (areas with 1 - 40 active cases) and are slowly moving towards Green Zones as the number of new infections reduces, and the number of recovered patients increases.

On the right track

The Health Ministry now, probably
Looking at the reducing numbers of Red Zones and increasing Green Zones as well as lower number of new cases and deaths in the past week, it looks like MCO is doing what it's supposed to.

However, as many experts have warned, we are winning the battle but the war is far from over.

We still have to be on guard and be prepared for more sacrifices even after the MCO is lifted.

It's going to be a long while before life could go back to the way it used to, if it ever does. Play your part and we can defeat COVID-19 together!
