Good news for Electric Train Services (ETS) users, the government is looking at revising the fares!
According to a report by Bernama, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail reportedly said that the National Cost of Living Action Council (NACCOL) has accepted a proposal by the Transport Ministry to carry out a review on ETS fares.
The review is to focus on the abolition of fare control and the implementation of a more dynamic fare structure.
She said NACCOL has also accepted another proposal by the ministry for the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to enforce the licensing of terminals and regulate charges imposed by terminal operators based on the quality of terminal services and facilities.
Dr Wan Azizah also said that consumers interest will be put first in the revising exercise.
