Group Cook Maggie with Gas Stove at Genting Petrol Station, Netizens Urge Authorities to Take Action
Genting Highlands is one of the most popular places in Malaysia for tourists due to its cool weather and one of the most popular foods to eat there is soup to warm you up. However, a group of people have gone viral on social media for bewilderingly and dangerously cooking Maggie and other snacks with a gas stove at a petrol station.
X user @localrkyt posted a video which appears to have been taken from TikTok with the caption, “How could these people think of using a stove at a petrol station?” It is common knowledge that even lighters are not to be used at petrol stations as petrol is highly combustible and might result in a dangerous fire accident or even a blast if it comes in contact with even the slightest spark.
According to our searches, the original video seems to have been taken from TikTok. The original poster seemed to find their activity fun and amusing, with the text in the video stating, “Came to Genting to cook Maggie” accompanied by hip-hop music. At least two portable gas stoves were used to cook Maggie and the text read, “It’s even like we’re doing business here.”
The huge group of people, which were surrounded by tens of cars seemed to be having their gathering at Petron Genting Highlands, known as a hot photo spot for car owners and one of the highest-situated petrol stations in Malaysia. They even set up foldable camping chairs for the occasion.

When police sirens were heard, the text in the video read, “They’re here” followed by a laughing emoji and police emojis. The group seemed unbothered by the upcoming arrival of the police, stating “(We’ll) continue eating first since the food is already cooked.” They then tucked into the Maggie with sausages and condiments on the side.
The poster of the video seemed unconcerned about revealing their identity, even zooming into the faces of the people who were gathered there, and the license plates could also be seen. The group even posed alongside their cars for a photo even as the police were arriving. Although it was not stated in the video, it appeared to be a gathering for Honda Jazz car owners.
Netizens were appalled by their behaviour and chimed in with their thoughts such as “I’ve never seen someone on this planet who uses a stove at a petrol station. Can’t even explain their level of stupidity.”

Others said, “They can enjoy cooking first, when they’re blown up then they’ll know” and “Really stupid move cooking at a petrol station…even at the underground tank area. Each of them who was cooking should be fined, you can even see their faces and car number plates.”
Another said, that just because they have slightly expensive cars, they exhibit terrible behaviour. If they were told off, they would surely fight back.

Meanwhile, another video on TikTok showed just how many cars there were. The poor petrol station attendants would’ve surely been overwhelmed by what to do.
