If you intend to visit any Ramadhan baazars in Subang Jaya, you need to bring along the biggest bag you can find.

According to a report by Bernama, the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) has banned Ramadhan baazar food stall operators from giving out plastic bags and polystyrene containers to customers.

Its acting president, Mohd Zulkarnain Che Ali, told the news agency that the ban was enforced to minimise usage of plastic bags and to increase public awareness on environmental issues.

The move, according to Mohd Zulkarnain, has reportedly been enforced at all 21 Ramadhan baazars in the Subang Jaya district.

If you want a plastic bag, you would have to pay an additional 20 sen, Mohd Zulkarnain said.

He also added that this no-plastic-bag campaign at Ramadhan baazars in Subang Jaya has been in effect since 2013 and so far, it has been pretty well received.

So, if you really want that mutton murtabak, be sure to bring your own containers.
