By now, most of you must have heard that all attendees of a special National Security Council (NSC) meeting on Oct 3, have been told to home quarantine for 14 days.

They were instructed to do this after being exposed to a COVID-19 positive Cabinet minister during the meeting.

One of the attendees of the meeting was Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.



Malay Mail reported that while Dr Noor Hisham said that he would observe the quarantine, he would still continue updating the country about the COVID-19 cases from home. 

Going live from home

His officer told media members that the Health director-general would go ‘live’ on the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) Facebook page at 5.30pm today.



He would do this on his own from his home, without the usual media members and other MOH support staff.

It was earlier reported that Religious Affairs Minister Datuk Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri tested positive for COVID-19 and had attended the NSC meeting.



Among those present in the meeting apart from Dr Noor Hisham include Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in Putrajaya, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob; Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof; Senior Minister of Education Radzi Jidin and Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

We applaud the health director-general for pushing through, and perhaps online meetings and press conferences should have been something that everyone practised from the beginning, Noor Hisham included.

Honestly, most Malaysians (and a lot of people around the world) have been doing this since the MCO so why should there be exceptions for those in power kan?
