Health DG Reveals That Country’s COVID-19 Infectivity Rate Has Risen The Past Few Days
As the COVID-19 vaccination programme is well under way, we Malaysians are one step closer to once again leading a normal life.
However, this is a reminder that the war is not yet over.
Despite a relatively lower number of daily active cases, the infectivity rate has slowly risen in the past couple of days.

Despite a relatively lower number of daily active cases, the infectivity rate has slowly risen in the past couple of days.Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah told Malay Mail that the effective reproduction number (Rt) stands at 1.0 on Thursday (25 March).
The Rt was 0.94 on Monday (22 March).
The states with the highest infectivity rate are Labuan (1.34), Pahang (1.26) and Putrajaya (1.25), Dr Noor Hisham mentioned.
“We need strong social responsibility and compliance to flatten the curve again,” he was quoted as saying.

In the whole month of March, the Rt had never exceeded 0.99 - well, until Thursday, that is.
