Here Are All The Athletes Who Will Be Representing Malaysia At The 2020 Tokyo Olympics
It's been a long wait, but it's finally here!
After a year-long postponement, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will get underway on 23 July 2021, and will end on 8 August 2021.
And just like the previous Olympic Games, the fittest and greatest Malaysian athletes will go all out to bring home the country's first gold medal.
This year, the Olympic Council of Malaysia has revealed that a total of 30 athletes will be representing the country in 10 sports.
The flag bearers for this year's Olympics will be badminton stars Lee Zii Jia and Goh Liu Ying, according to a report by Free Malaysia Today.
It's time to get behind the team as here are all the athletes who will be making the country proud at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics:
ARCHERY
We will have two athletes representing Malaysia in the archery category. They are:Khairul Anuar Mohamad (Men's Individual and Mixed Team)
Syaqiera Mashayikh (Women's Individual and Mixed Team)
ATHLETICS
In athletics, two athletes will be representing Malaysia. They are:Lee Hup Wei (Men's High Jump)
Azreen Nabila Alias (Women's 100 Meters)
BADMINTON
In badminton, a total of eight athletes will be representing the country. They are:Lee Zii Jia (Men's Singles)
Goh Liu Ying (Mixed Doubles)
CYCLING
Two Malaysian athletes will be representing Malaysia in the cycling category. They are:Azizulhasni Awang (Men's Sprint and Men's Keirin)
Shah Firdaus Sahrom (Men's Sprint and Men's Keirin)
DIVING
A total of five athletes will be taking part in the diving category. They are:Nur Dhabitah Sabri (Women's 3m Springboard)
Pandelela Rinong (Women's 10m Platform and Women's 10m Synchronised Platform)
GOLF
Two Malaysian athletes will be representing the country in the golf category. They are:Gavin Green (Men's)
Kelly Tan (Women's)
GYMNASTICS
In the artistic gymnastics category, Malaysia will be represented by two athletes. They are:Jeremiah Loo Phay Xing (All Around)
Farah Ann Abdul Hadi (All Around)
SAILING
Four local athletes will be representing Malaysia in the sailing category. They are:Khairulnizam Mohd Afendy (Men's Laser)
Juni Noor Jamali (Women's 470)
SHOOTING
In the shooting category, one Malaysian athlete will be representing the country. She is:Nur Suryani Mohd Taibi (Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions)
Swimming
Two Malaysian swimmers will be representing the country in this category. They are:Welson Sim (200m Freestyle and 400m Freestyle)
