The government has announced that they will be ending the walk-in vaccination service in the Klang Valley next week.According to a report by News Straits Times quoting Science, Technology, and Innovation (Mosti) Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, the decision was made due to the small rate of unvaccinated Klang Valley population and a low presence at vaccination centres (PPV).
The last day for Malaysians to walk in and get their jabs will be on 15 September.
Dr Adham said that individuals who have not been vaccinated but wish to get the shots after the date can go to certain health clinics beginning 16 September to get their jabs.
Dr Adham added that the termination of the walk-in vaccination service only applies to PPVs in the Klang Valley, and those in other states will not be affected.
"However, the end of walk-in vaccinations is only in the Klang Valley.
"Walk-ins in other states will continue," he was quoted as saying.
Dr Adham added that planned outreach programmes will continue to ensure no one is left out from the COVID-19 National Immunisation Programme.
