Honesty is a very rare trait in today’s world.

However, one waiter from Ipoh’s Sri Ananda Bahwan Restaurant lives by it.

Honesty goes a long way

Honesty is definitely the best policy.
The waiter, who goes by the name of Nagendran, recently proved his honesty after finding and returning a gold ring belonging to a customer.

According to a report by Malay Mail, the customer, Kunavathi Paul Raj and her son, had breakfast at the restaurant last Tuesday.

They were about to leave the restaurant and were heading towards their car when Nahendran chased after them with the gold ring in his hand.

“I was just about to enter my car and we saw Nahendran running after us and asked us if we had lost anything.

“Upon checking, my son then realised and told me that his gold ring was missing from his finger.

“And in the waiter’s hand was that gold ring — it probably had slipped out of his finger when he was leaving the restaurant,” she explained in her Facebook post.

The grateful retired teacher said she was taken in back at the waiter’s honesty tracked down his Facebook name.

Kunavathi even spoke to the restaurant’s manager to see if she can reward him for his honesty.

“Posting it on Facebook was another way to show the managers of the restaurant that some of their workers although from India are really genuine and honest,” she said.

Meanwhile, the restaurant’s group business development manager Anusiia Selvaraj told Malay Mail that the restaurant’s management team was very proud of Nahendran’s honesty in returning the gold ring.

And if you're wondering, yes; the restaurant also plans to reward him for his honesty.

We need more people like Nahendran!
