If you are working from home (WFH) during the conditional movement control order (CMCO) period, it helps to know your rights as an employee.

Yep, that's right; you can actually report your employer to the authorities if you feel like they're taking advantage of the situation.

In line with the directives

Know your rights as an employee!
On Wednesday (21 October), the government announced that 10 per cent of the workforce involved in industries under Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) and in the government or public service can work from home.

Anyway, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan told Malay Mail on Thursday (23 October) that during the whole WFH period, employers should be paying the same salary to their employees and should not make them use up their annual leave.

Additionally, workers should also not be forced to take leave without pay.

He told the news portal that this is in line with the order and statement issued by the ministry back in March during the Movement Control Order (MCO).

“However, employers can discuss with their employees over any actions and decisions taken for the sake of common interests,” he said in a statement, as reported by Malay Mail.

So, what should you do if you feel like your employer is taking advantage of the situation?
