IKEA Cheras Reopens Today, COVID-19 Measures Strictly Enforced
Remember when they closed down Ikea Cheras because a few guards were found to be COVID-19 positive?
Seems like forever ago kan? (It was on 25 January).
Anyway, the management have finally decided to reopen the mall today.
In a statement on Facebook, Ikea Malaysia said that the Cheras branch would be welcoming visitors starting 4pm.
"By having our reactive plans in place, we have been able to secure and complete all required measures within the shortest timeframe - these include thorough sanitisation of the store and full contact tracing, in accordance to the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) standards.
"All our IKEA co-workers and service partners who will be reporting for duty have been tested and will continue to be tested as required.
"Across all IKEA Malaysia stores, we have and will continue to secure and enforce all preventive measures while adhering the standard operating procedures (SOPs)," they said via the statement.
Safety measures strictly enforced
Some of the preventive measures implemented include:
- Enforced scanning of the MySejahtera QR code for contact tracing purposes.
- Hand sanitising station.
- Mandatory wearing of masks upon entry to store.
- Social distancing markers.
- Thermal scanners at all entry points.
It's just a reminder that despite being careful, the risk of getting COVID-19 is always there.
Don't try bending any of the rules or SOP.
Stay safe!
