In an interview with China Press, the homeless man, identified as Mohammad Danis, 47, shared that on that fateful day, he was sleeping when five young men suddenly woke him up. One of them handed Danis a packet of rice from a well-known fast food chain and asked him to open it.

“I didn't understand their intention at the time and thought they were giving me food. So, I opened it and saw it was chicken rice with a lot of chicken bones mixed inside.”

According to him, three of the young men appeared to be the protagonists or actors in the video, while two others were in charge of filming the encounter.

Danis, who was born in Perak but grew up in Johor, said that although many viewers of the viral video called it a cruel prank, he held no grudges against the group.

“I'm always grateful to anyone who gives me food, and I don't mind what kind of food it is. Accepting food from the public is my job, after all,” he joked.

Danis also revealed that the group had apologised to him afterwards. He told them he didn’t mind and never blamed them, adding that he had come to see them as ‘brothers’.

Danis, who currently lives in front of the Meilun Building, said the police had approached him to inquire about the viral incident, and he had explained to them what transpired.
