Inspired by His Time Here, This Indian Man Opens a Malaysian-Style Tomyam Restaurant Back Home
It’s true what they say, Malaysia is a land rich in food. From local delicacies to international cuisine, it’s never hard to find a satisfying meal here.
Perhaps inspired by the abundance of food during his time in Malaysia, an Indian national has opened a Malaysian-style Tomyam restaurant in his home country.

The man, known on TikTok as Kani Boy, reportedly worked in Malaysia before returning home to start his culinary venture.
His restaurant features a variety of beloved Malaysian dishes, including Apam Balik, Mee Sotong, Satay, and even Roti Canai and Nasi Lemak.
It’s understood that the restaurant was built in June and officially opened its doors to the public in early July.

Meanwhile, Malaysian social media users have expressed pride and excitement at seeing local dishes being served abroad. Some even took to the comments to ask Kani Boy for the restaurant’s location so they can visit when they travel to India.
One user said, “Congrats, Anne. Malaysians visiting India can drop by your restaurant. The shop looks clean and offers a wide range of Malaysian cuisine.”
Another commented, “Where is your shop located? Who knows, we might get lost and end up at your restaurant!”
