Hateful behaviour or copyright infringement are most likely the reasons behind an Instagram account’s suspension on a normal day. But yesterday was a whole different story.

According to CNA, thousands of Instagram accounts were locked and suspended worldwide including ones owned by Malaysians.

Instagram posted a statement via the brand’s Twitter account (yes, the irony) as they officially acknowledge the issue at hand.A large number of users replied to the tweet with their satisfaction with the suspension. As of now, the reason for the suspension is still unclear as Instagram has yet to release a full statement regarding the matter.

There were also multiple reports from active Instagram accounts seeing their follower count plummet including influencers such as Khairul Aming himself.
If you’re affected by the issue, Instagram is still recovering from the problem but rest assured your suspension will most likely be temporary.
