Remember our story last week about a group of Malaysians, including local actor Azhan Rani, who are on an expedition to fly the Jalur Gemilang at the Mount Everest base camp (EBC)?

We’re happy to report that the team of twenty-six climbers has completed their mission!

According to a report by Bernama, the climbers, comprising of 20 Malaysians and six Bruneians, jointly raised the giant Jalur Gemilang measuring 12 metres by six metres and weighing 11 kilogrammes on 10 September at about 12.05 pm (Malaysian time).

The climbers reportedly took nine days to trek 65 kilometres from Lukla to Gorak Shep, Nepal to complete the feat, which was planned in conjunction with the 62nd National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.
