Despite everything that's happened this past week, one thing's for certain: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his wife, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah, are still an adorable couple.

A video showing the two nonagenarians hugging it out has gone viral on social media.

Heartwarming embrace

The one-minute, eight-second video was uploaded onto the Kelab Che Det Facebook page on Sunday and has since racked up more than 816,000 views.

In the video, Tun M was seen walking towards Tun Siti, who had her hands out and ready to embrace the 94-year-old.

At first, Tun M seemed reluctant to go in for a hug, but Tun Siti held on tightly to her husband and at one point, could be seen tearing up.

The crowd cheered Tun M on, and someone was heard saying: "Jangan malu malu, Tun. Kena peluk balik baru boleh lepas.” (Don’t be shy, Tun. Hug her back, only then she will let you go).

Only then Tun M relented and put his arm around Tun Siti and gave her a pat on the back.
