Japan Airlines Lets You See If You Are Seated Near Children On The Plane

Travelling can either be a joyful or painful ride, especially when you're in an airplane.

The risk of flying Economy class with the rest of the flight is that you may be unfortunate enough to lose your peace and quiet.

For example, crying babies.

While we cannot control nor complain about our fellow passengers, especially if they are infants whose only way of communicating is crying, this airline came up with the most brilliant feature.

Japan Airlines (JAL) now has a tool that lets you know where babies and toddlers are sitting.

When passengers book a flight on the JAL website, they are able to see where a child is seated on the airplane's seat map.

"Passengers traveling with children between 8 days and 2 years old who select their seats on the JAL website will have a child icon displayed on their seats on the seat selection screen," the website states, as reported by CNN.

You won't have to scream next to a screaming baby now.
This facility is part of Japan Airlines' (JAL) "Smile Support" travel service for those flying with infants.

So you can plan your seats better and make your flying experience slightly more within your control with the airline.

However, there are certain situations in which the seating layout will not display child icons.

As for parents travelling with young children, we can only imagine how hard it must be.
For example, this feature is only available to those who book their flights via the JAL website, so if bookings are made using a third-party platform, this will not show.

Passengers also will not see the indication if the aircraft is changed at the last minute.

With that said, if you are travelling with a young child, JAL also offers services to minimise the trouble for you.

There are strollers available for rent at the airport and baby strollers are also accepted as checked baggage at no extra charge.

Not only that, passengers who are travelling with infants can enjoy priority boarding, hot water for bottles and diaper-changing facilities on board.

Now having said that, let's be a little more patient with parents who are travelling with young children because you will never know how difficult it is until you are in their shoes.
