Guess who will be in town next week?

It's none other than actress Julia Roberts and former US first lady Michelle Obama.

The former First Lady will be in town.
According to a report by Free Malaysia Today (FMT), the duo will be in Kuala Lumpur to attend a dialogue on girl empowerment at the 'Obama Foundation’s Inaugural Leaders: Asia-Pacific' conference on 12 December.

Quoting an article from the Obama Foundation website, FMT said both public figures will travel to Vietnam on 9 December on behalf of the foundation’s Girls Opportunity Alliance to meet with local education organisations and beneficiaries of programmes that help girls reach their full potential.

“In Malaysia, Obama and Roberts will share reflections about their trip to Vietnam, as well as lessons from their own leadership journeys and their path-breaking careers,” the website said.

Former US president Barack Obama will also take part in a talk titled “How The Asia-Pacific Shaped Us” on 13 December.

The programme is set to gather over 200 leaders from 33 countries and territories in Asia Pacific from 10 to 14 December for plenary sessions, skill-building workshops and leadership trainings.

You can’t join the event as it is not open to public but some sessions, including the Roberts and Obama's dialogue, will be livestreamed at obama.org for your viewing pleasure.
