K9 Units & Hydration Points Among Five New SOPs Introduced by Ministry for Organising Concerts
The Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS) has introduced five new standard operating procedures (SOP) for organising concerts, especially electronic dance music concerts in Malaysia.

Hannah Yeoh, Youth Sports Minister said the new rule was a proactive measure taken by the ministry with partnerships with Home Ministry and Health Ministry in an effort to curb drug abuse among youth. On top of that, the move is also taken to ensure the safety of concertgoers.
Here are the five new SOPs that concert organisers must now implement:
- Hydration Points must be provided to overcome dehydration
- Medical team must be on standby at the scene in case of emergency cases
- Anti-drug messages displayed on trailers, posters, or videos and what to do in case of an emergency
- Nearby hospitals need to be notified and is prepared to manage victims should any incident occur
- K9 units placed at concert events for safety controls

In a report by BERNAMA, Hannah Yeoh said, the new SOPs are the new conditions for EDM concert organisers, especially when it involves ministry facilities such as Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) and the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
