Kelantan is Hosting a Crying Competition With Participants Shed Tears to Bring Home RM500
Where else are you going to get paid for crying? Well, at this expo in Kelantan, if you can outcry other contestants, you will bring home RM500.
This bizarre crying competition was held at Expo Kelate Pantai Irama Bachok. In a viral video, several contestants are seen trying so hard to cry as they stand on the stage.
According to the organiser, Muhammad Nur Amin Che Nor Asri, 25, the contestants will begin with preliminary rounds, and only four will advance to the final stage.
The first-place winner will take home RM500, the second-place winner RM300, and the third-place winner RM100. Consolation prizes were also awarded to those who participated.
Apparently, this is not the first time the crying competition was being held as Nur Amin revealed the crying contest was in its fourth edition.
“It had previously been held at Rhu Rehlah Pantai Bisikan Bayu in Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah and Pantai Irama, Bachok,” he said.
The crying competition was later won by a man from Wakaf Bharu who impressed others with his crying skills.
However, it is uncertain how the winner was chosen.

The crying competition had garnered attention from other social media users with many of them amused that such a contest was even held in the first place. Meanwhile, others were poking fun at it by imagining how they'll react if they participate.
One user commented, “Can you imagine if you closed your eyes to try to cry but then you opened them and saw the faces that people next to you made? I would laugh like crazy!”
“I would be the first to be eliminated because I won't be able to cry because I'm too busy laughing,” said another.
