King’s Meeting With Political Party Leaders Postponed Due To COVID-19 Curbs
It's been quite a dramatic few days, politics wise in Malaysia.
By now, most of us know that opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah claiming that he has the numbers to change the government.
The Istana Negara later said that while the meet happened and Anwar told The King about the numbers of MPs backing him, he did not submit any names or documents to support his claim.
Following that, His Majesty said that he wanted to meet with leaders of various political parties to verify their support for Anwar.
Meetings put on hold
Things seemed to be going well, but now the whole process has hit another snag.
All meetings scheduled to meet His Majesty for the next two weeks has been postponed due to COVID-19 curbs said a senior palace official as reported by The Edge.
Palace comptroller Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said new dates for the meetings would only be decided after the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) currently implemented in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya, ends.Must-Watch Video
