KTMB Set To Introduce New Flexi Plans For The ETS, And That Means Fares Will Be Cheaper
Are you a frequent Electric Train Service (ETS) user? Here’s some good news for you, then.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is set to introduce a more affordable fare system for those wishing to travel on the ETS.
Free seating option
This is possible through the introduction of the flexi fare, a method used by KTMB to determine fares based on passenger travel options.
This basically means that passengers will have better flexibility to make travel plans and choices according to their needs.
The new initiative will reportedly kick off on 1 March, the Malay Mail reported.
“For example, for travel during festive season or school holiday, consumers who book early will enjoy lower fares than those who buy the tickets at the last minute.
“They also get to enjoy double savings through promotions that will be offered from time to time,” read a statement from the Transport Ministry quoted by the news portal.
The report said that the flexi fare tickets for all ETS destinations for travel between 1 March 2020 and 31 March 2021 will go on sale beginning 15 January.
As part of the flexi fare promotion, KTMB will also be offering free seating option for those buying tickets for travel between 1 and 30 March.
Besides that, concession fares for government retirees and their spouses, senior citizens, Persons with Disabilities (OKU), children between four and 12 years-old, students in possession of the KTM i-card, members of the police and armed forces and firefighters are also available.
Don't wait till the last minute, guys! Go grab your ETS tickets now.
