From his first lead role in the iconic Bollywood cult hit 'Bobby' to starring in other classics including 'Rafoo Chakar',‘Amar Akbar Anthony',‘Khel Khel Mein' and ‘Hum Kisise Kum Nahin’, Rishi Kapoor has grown to be a Bollywood great and cinema darling for fans.



The 67-year-old actor died today after losing to a two-year battle with cancer.

According to Variety, Kapoor was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on 29 April following breathing issues.

“He is suffering from cancer and he has some breathing problem, so he has been admitted to the hospital,” said his brother Randhir in a statement to the media.

In and out of hospitals for a while

Kapoor had been previously hospitalised several times due to a variety of complications after first been diagnosed with cancer in 2018.

Since debuting alongside his father Raj Kapoor in the 1970 film 'Mera Naam Joker', Kapoor has gone on to act in over 90 movies.

He has also directed and produced a collection of Bollywood films throughout his four-decade-long career.
