This Local Sikh Gurdwara Prepares Healthy Meals For The Needy During MCO Period
In this difficult and uncertain times, a simple act of kindness goes a long way.
That was exactly what a Sikh Gurdwara in SS13, Subang Jaya was trying to show.
The Gurdwara has been preparing healthy meals to feed the needy in and within the Subang Jaya and Petaling Jaya area during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
According to a report by Malay Mail, the Gurdwara has a simple method of determining a person’s eligibility to receive the free food – via phone calls.
Helping out the needy

The initiative’s coordinator, Amanjeet Singh, told the news portal that the plan to provide food to those in need came about after a youngster threw around the idea of helping the needy communities.
Since then, the Gurdwara has been servicing the elderly and disabled who are unable to buy themselves meals in the area.
“The meals are prepared at about 10am in the morning, and are delivered to the doorsteps of the recipients from 12pm to 12.30pm by our volunteers.
“People from all walks of life have generously contributed to this initiative although we did not ask for donations.”
