Lonely Planet has recently unveiled its latest Best in Asia list and a local pride and joy is among the top 10!
The historical city of Melaka has been named one of the ten best travel destinations in Asia for 2017 and we couldn’t be more ecstatic.
Lonely Planet highlighted Melaka’s UNESCO World Heritage status and the city’s numerous heritage buildings that have been transformed into boutique hotels, restaurants and galleries.
The Melaka River is one of the city’s newer tourist spots and Lonely Planet also recommended the boat rides along this waterway and the fact that water taxis will soon link the Melaka Sentral bus station and downtown.
The Trash and Treasure flea market held at the riverside every weekend was also commended, especially for those who love rummaging for souvenirs.
nMelaka sits ob the ninth spot among other Asian destinations, including Gansu in China, Northern Kerala in India and Takayama in Japan.
