Our national women's hockey team, the Malaysian Tigress, is currently competing at the FIH Women’s Series Finals Banbridge 2019 in Ireland.

After a close call losing to the host team 1-2 on the first day, the team managed to bounced back and defeated the Singaporean team with a staggering 12-0 on Sunday (9 June).

Cue to incoming Malaysia vs Singapore comments.

This marks Malaysia's first victory in Ireland, making them the top scorers of Group A with 13 goals in total so far.

They smashed past our neighbouring rivals.
According to the Malaysia Hockey Confederation, in terms of ranking, the Tigress (3 pts) are second in the group behind Ireland (6 pts) and ahead of their next opponents, Czech Republic (3 pts) due to the difference in goals.

The ladies will go against world No. 19, the Czech Republic today (11 June), 7pm Malaysia time.

Winners of the group will qualify for the semi-finals, while the second and third places of each group will play in cross-over ties for the two remaining semi-final spots.

Will you be watching the match tonight?
Ultimately, the finalists of this tournament will secure a playoff spot and be one step closer to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Go Malaysian Tigress! We are rooting for you back home!
