Malaysia Boleh! We Are The Fattest Country In Asia
Everyone knows that we Malaysians tend to take pride in every achievement, no matter big or small, in our country.
From performing well during the 2017 SEA Games or any sporting event to having one of the best culturally-diverse food in the world, we’re always proud of it.
But there’s one list that we’ve managed to top, even though we shouldn't.
Malaysia has been dubbed as the fattest country in Asia. It was found that half of the Malaysian population is overweight or obese, as reported by The Star.

What’s even more alarming is that the rate of people who are obese have grown rapidly by 302 per cent in just two years, according to the 2015 National Health & Morbidity Survey (NHMS).
Another study conducted by The Institute of Health’s Second Burden of Disease Study for Malaysia in 2012 noted that high blood pressure, smoking, diabetes, high cholesterol and overweight or obesity are the biggest contributor to the disability and death rates.

Yikes! Guess we have to start cutting down on those late-night mamak sessions and also our favourite breakfast of roti canai or nasi lemak.
We know, you guys can’t help it since we live in a country that offers a plethora of good food that’s available any time of the day. But this finding is highly alarming and we’ve got to start practising a healthier lifestyle!
