The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has rubbished a message that's been widely circulating on social media which says that London-like weather is set to hit Malaysia in February.MetMalaysia said in a statement quoted by Malay Mail that said that the viral message, which was widely shared on WhatsApp, was from 2016 and people have been re-posting it recently.
The department further added that the colder weather that we’ve been experiencing was due to the continuous humid and cloudy weather, the cold winds and the lack of sunlight.
On Sunday (3 January), the lowest temperature recorded in the country was 21 and 22 degrees Celsius, reportedly recorded in Terengganu, Pahang and Johor.Earlier, MetMalaysia said the cold weather that we're experiencing now is due to last until March (yay!).

In case you were wondering, the lowest ever temperature ever recorded in Malaysia was recorded at Mount Kinabalu back in 2018.On 28 October of that year, the temperature dropped to a shocking -2.4 degrees Celsius.
