If you happen to be in Penang this weekend and you bump into weird people dressing up as cute cartoon cats, don't be alarmed.

The Penang Anime Matsuri 2017 - Summer Wonderland (PAM17), dubbed the biggest ever anime convention in Malaysia, will be taking place at the Setia Spice Convention Centre in George Town, Penang this weekend.

Supported by Anime Festival Asia and the Penang state government, more than 50,000 nerds anime lovers are expected to show up for the two-day event.

The highlight of the event is the 'I love Anisong X AniBeats' music festival, which will take place across two days.

The music festival will reportedly feature performances from some of the biggest performers in Japan, such as DJ Kazu, kz (livetune), May'n, kradness and nano.

If concerts are not your thing, you can also take part in the Cosplay Singles Showdown, watch some HoneyWorks animated movies or take some pictures with Pikachu.

Who can say no to Pikachu, right?

You'll see lots of Gundam-people around.
Not only that, Japan's most popular cosplayer Enako will also be making an appearance at the Festival for a special meet-and-greet session.

She can arrest us any day.
But here's the thing; unfortunately, the entrance to the event is not free.

Indoor exhibition halls with the stage costs RM15 per day, while tickets for the concert and the exhibition costs RM118 per day and RM220 for two days.

If you're a nerd lover of anime, head on over to Peatix to grab your tickets now. Hurry, Enako is waiting.
