Malaysia Swims To A New National Record At Singapore Tournament
National swimmers Tern Jian Han, Wong Fu Kang, Chan Jie and Keith Lim now have something in common. Can you guess what it is?
Well, these four young lads are now officially the new Malaysian record holder for the men’s 4x100m swimming medley relay! They quartet managed to smash the 18-year-old record previously set by Lim Keng Liat, Elvin Chia, Anthony Ang and Allen Ong in the 1999 Sea Games in Brunei.
The new record holders clocked in at 3:45.28 - surpassing the previous record of 3:45.61. Their strong effort placed them second at the Singapore national age-group championships on Sunday.
Another Malaysian swimmer, Welson Sim, also had a victorious feat during the tournament after winning the 1,500m freestyle final.
He clocked in at an impressive 15:31.10 - his new personal best - enroute to winning his third title of the tournament, after winning the 200m and 400m events earlier.
What a great news to start our mundane Monday morning. Congratulations, boys. Malaysia Boleh!
