This Malaysian Lass Created History After Winning First Prize In ACCA Exams Worldwide
What a way to start our week as another Malaysian has achieved an outstanding academic performance internationally.
Wan Nur Mafudah Wan Yusof was announced the first prize winner for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Financial Reporting paper.
She emerged as the number-one world ranking candidate after scoring 95% for the paper.
It was a historical feat for the 21-year-old as she also became the first Malay ever to receive the accolade.
The Besut native recently graduated from the Intec Education College, Kuala Lumpur and aspires to become a lecturer one day.
But her journey to the top wasn’t a smooth sailing one because her family initially objected her wish to pursue her studies in accountancy. But she persevered and was very determined to prove herself which she did in the end. Way to go girl, you certainly proved them wrong!
In an interview with Bernama, she shared her recipe for success and how she was able to attain such excellent marks.
She would always share her knowledge with her friends whenever they needed her help which in turn, helped her practice and increase her understanding of the subject.
“I suggest that emphasis be placed on accountancy, commerce, economics and English from the early secondary school level as these are the foundation subjects in the mastery of accountancy,” she told Bernama.
Congratulations Wan Nur Mafudah, may you become an inspiration to other aspiring students and accountants out there!
