In case you've been under a rock -- or you've been staying at the P4 basement of Mid Valley Megamall because they have no internet there -- social media was abuzz with a picture of politician Khairy Jamaluddin sitting alone at the Opposition side of the Dewan Rakyat.


According to a report by The Edge, his colleagues have decided to stage a walk out to protest against an alleged violation of the procedure in the appointment of the Speaker on Monday.

The former Umno Youth leader, along with Kimanis MP Datuk Seri Anifah Aman, decided not to take part in the walk out and had stayed in the Dewan.

The 42-year-old later said the walk out was "inappropiate" as they must "respect the House and the oath-taking ceremony."

While we have no idea what his colleagues think of his action, Malaysian netizens were quick to praise the former Youth and Sports Minister for sticking to his principles:
