Such was the case for a Malaysian teenager who tragically passed away after a visit to a haunted house attraction recently.

Tragic outing

According to a report by Kosmo!, the 16-year-old was on vacation with his friend's family at Bentong on 1 December.

He then decided to go to a haunted house attraction nearby with his friends.

However, in a video that's gone viral on social media, the teen can be seen becoming overwhelmed by just being in the haunted house.

His friends can be seen on video trying to calm him down by telling him to take deep breaths, but he passed out shortly after.

Sadly, the teen never recovered and passed away soon after.

Bentong police chief Superintendant Zaiham Mohd Kahar told the news portal that the case has been classified as sudden death.

The report said the autopsy showed that he had a perforated heart, a rare but potentially fatal complication of the heart that could be present from birth.

Sigh, may the teenager rest in peace.
