Some people have different ways of showing their love for their country. Some go on a very long walk, some cycle around their city and for some, they wear it on their sleeve.

Like, literally.

A Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) pensioner loves his country so much, he spent RM200 of his pension money to get himself a tailor-made Jalur Gemilang baju Melayu.

Wearing his love for the country
According to a report by Bernama, 61-year-old Rahman Jali wants to pay respect to the sacrifice of the fighters and leaders who fought for the independence of the country.

“I am proud to be able to wear the incredible costume made using the Jalur Gemilang pattern ahead of Merdeka,” he said.

Although he didn’t want to wear the costume every time he had to attend a special occasion, but he felt proud when showered with praises.

“My move is not to show off but to instil the spirit of patriotism in the community to always love their homeland,” he said.

Rahman has also asked Malaysian to show their pride for the nation and honour Merdeka Day.
