Malaysian YouTube sensation Sugu Pavitra has been awarded with the Silver Play Button by the video sharing platform after the account hit 100,000 subscribers.

According to a report by Malay Mail, the news was announced by Pavithra through a video titled ‘Unboxing Silver Play Button’.

Pavitra and her husband Sugu reportedly celebrated the achievement with their family and friends with fried chicken and a cake.

“The first person I want to thank is Seri as she introduced YouTube to me and taught me how to make and upload videos on YouTube,” she said in the video.



Starting a YouTube account on 28 Jan this year, the couple's videos which mostly focus on cooking local dishes (and done in Bahasa Malaysia) gained popularity especially during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
