Malaysians Can Finally Fly AirAsia to London and Frankfurt (Possibly Even America)
AirAsia X will reinstate its London flights starting this summer (June maybe?), flying out of KLIA2. In a story by FMT.com, AirAsia group CEO Tony Fernandes told media at the World Economic Forum that in addition to the flights to London, passengers on AirAsia X will be able to fly direct to Frankfurt via Bangkok as well.
Tan Sri Tony Fernandes aims to set the price of tickets at €200 (RM953) for the Bangkok-Frankfurt flight. He added that he would like to offer the flight for even less given the low oil prices. He added that the Frankfurt-Bangkok move was done to attract more Eurpoeans to Southeast Asia and vice versa. "We see it as a mutual market," he was quoted as saying by DPA, a German news agency.
United States Connection
In some more good news, AirAsia X has become the first low-cost carrier in Asia to receive approval to operate scheduled passenger flights to any destination within the United States. AirAsia is considering flights to several US states, including Hawaii. We also suggest that AirAsia begin flights to San Francisco and New York. Passengers will layover in Japan and London respectively. Done.
