Malaysians Hilariously React To Minister’s Absurd FINAS License Ruling When Filming Videos
Have you ever imagined a world where uploading videos of your lunch or scenes from your birthday party on Instagram, or even dancing on TikTok, would cost RM50,000?
It sounds absurd, but that was what Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said during a parliament session on Thursday (23 July).
Malaysians see the funny side
The controversial statement illicited all sorts of reactions from netizens, including media practioners, local celebrities, and even ministers.
Many condemned the ruling as a burden to content creators out there, and it's a restriction to personal freedom.Others, however, decided to make a joke out of the situation, hence all these memes were born to entertain us on social media, something these creative Malaysians never fail to do.

Despite his statement on the issue, the damage has been done and the jokes have been made.
We hope that the government will review such law if it truly exists, because honestly speaking, the thought of everyone in Malaysia going to jail for updating their social media is absolutely ludicrous.
