Man Accidentally Leaves Mother Behind At R&R, Only Realised She Was Missing After 200km Drive

You may have forgotten the last place you put your keys, you may have forgotten to take the chicken out of the freezer, you may even have forgotten to have your meals on time because of your busy schedule.

However, this man from Kuala Terengganu takes the cake for his forgetfulness. The man in his 40s actually forgot his own mother!

According to The New Straits Times, he was reportedly on his way back to Kuala Lumpur after the Hari Raya Aidilfitri break with his wife and his 73-year-old mother when he stopped his car at the Bukit Besi R&R for his wife to answer the call of nature.

He and his mother remained in the car as his wife went to the toilet. The man utilised the time to catch a shut eye and it was then that his mother quietly got down to use the facilities as well.

When the wife came back, the man woke up and continued the journey back to Kuala Lumpur without, strangely, looking back once.

The husband and wife only realised that the woman was missing when they stopped for a lunch break at the Gambang R&R, near Kuantan, which is 196km from the Bukit Besi R&R.

Meanwhile, the woman, after realising that her son left without her, sought help from members of the public.

When they reportedly offered to send her to the R&R’s express bus stop, she was reluctant to leave. Later, two Road Transport Department staff members sent her to the Bukit Besi police station.

The police learnt that the elderly has a daughter who is a teacher at a school in Bukit Payong, and they managed to contact the school and trace the woman’s daughter.

Her grandson picked her up later and drove her to Bukit Payong, and her son and daughter in law had to make a U-turn to fetch her.
