Climbers, guides and porters at Mount Kinabalu were recently greeted by a surprise visitor.

Yes, their respective journeys were pleasantly interrupted by ‘Iron Man’.

According to a report in New Straits Times, the ‘Iron Man’ was actually Yohan Charles Jayasuria who donned a three-kilogramme "Iron Man" costume, hiked through a 6.7 kilometre trail from Timpohon Gate to Panar Laban in the rain.

The 39-year-old cosplayer went through the hardship in an attempt to enter the Guinness World Records by wearing a superhero costume throughout his trek.

Not just for the record

It was all not done just to set a record though.

Raising funds for the guides.

Yohan also wore the suit to raise funds for the mountain guides.

"It took about six and a half hours to reach Laban Rata (Panar Laban) before continuing to the peak at around 2.30am.

"We were also told to document the adventure by taking pictures and videos of the journey," he told the New Straits Times.

However, the report said due to bad weather, Yohan and his entourage were not able to reach the peak.

They still managed to raise funds via the programme called "Iron Man" initiated by veterinarian Dr Randolf Paza.

The donations have since been handed over to a representative of the mountain guides.

What a cool way to do a such a sweet thing for the guides. We loike!
