Man in JB Sets Wife's Car on Fire Over Marital Dispute, PDRM Currently Looking For Him
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is on the hunt for a 25-year-old man after he allegedly set his wife's car on fire in the middle of Jalan Tebrau on 2nd February.
A fellow road user caught the fiery incident on camera, and the 28-second video had gone viral.
In the video, the suspect, driving a white Toyota Vellfire, had blocked a Toyota Vios belonging to his 21-year-old wife. He then proceeded to pour petrol onto her car before setting it on fire.
Johor Bahru Selatan district police chief ACP Raub Selamat said a police report regarding the incident was lodged by the wife at 1:33 am on 3rd February. Reportedly, the fiery incident occurred at 10:20 pm and is believed to have been sparked by a misunderstanding between the couple.
Thankfully, the four people in the Toyota Vios, including the wife, escaped unharmed.
According to a report, the victim suffered RM90,000 in damages, and the case is currently being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code.
