Sigh, when will these people ever learn?

A 40-year-old engineer was arrested by the police after he allegedly made a bomb joke at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport on Wednesday.

According to a news report by The Star Online, the man – believed to be a permanent resident of Brunei – was checking in his luggage at the airport when the officer-in-charge asked if he was carrying anything dangerous with him.

Trying to be funny, the man reportedly replied “bomb”.

The man then apologised after the officer told him that he shouldn’t say the B-word at the airport.

However, the officer’s colleague, who reportedly heard the exchange, advised her to strike the man’s name off the passenger list and remove his luggage as a precaution. The officer then reportedly lodged a police report.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Asst Comm M. Chandra told the news portal that the police arrested the man on the spot and had his luggage searched.

Thankfully, the police did not find anything dangerous in the man’s luggage, but he would still need to spend a couple of days behind bars to facilitate investigations under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.

Guess he doesn't think it's very funny now.
