After a long day at work or walking around the city, most of us would find sitting on the LRT a welcome relief for our aching feet. However, a man has gone viral for his inconsiderate actions of hogging an LRT seat.

Twitter User @annoyedmsian shared a Tweet of the man sent to them by a friend, explaining, “Someone asked him to remove his bag from the seat & he made a face & refused. If you’re gonna be a jerk on the train, you deserve to be called out publicly.” They also included the hashtag #rapidkl.

Apparently, the man has made a reputation for himself amongst other LRT commuters as Tweets poured in from other users who have also caught him acting thoughtlessly. Another user @riznal shared a photo of a man from a different day also hogging a train seat with his bag.

@annoyedmsian replied that the man must be famous amongst LRT riders that he even took note much earlier on.

X users chastised his actions with one even saying, “He looks like someone who will bury a tofu underneath the nasi (rice) to avoid paying.”

One said he looked like he was on the way to give a bad food review in a French restaurant. Hmm, Anton Ego from Ratatouille, anyone?

It seemed that the man also exhibited other strange behaviour as another Twitter user had caught him peeling garlic and snacking on raw asparagus. In the same photo, he was also seen taking up a seat with his bag. The consumption of food and beverages is not allowed on the LRT, as many signs on the train display.

The eccentric man treated the LRT like his second home, as another picture showed the man appearing to be ‘camping’, with several containers and paper cups on the seat next to him.

RapidKL Takes Note

As reported by Yahoo Southeast Asia, RapidKL confirmed that their security team had met with the man who was advised not to repeat his behaviour.

They also issued a Tweet informing passengers not to eat and drink on public transport or to monopolise seats.

Personally, if our actions were called out like this in public, we’d have to hide in a cave for ten years. Take note, y’all!
