A Man Successfully Posed As A Fake Doctor At A Kedah Hospital For A Year Without Being Caught
You probably think this story was taken straight out of an Malaysian evening TV drama, or that we concocted it after hours of binge-watching medical dramas. We wish that was the case, but it’s not.
A man who goes by the name of ‘Dr. Ridzuan’ has been ‘serving’ his duty at the Sultan Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah for the past year. The thing is, he’s not actually a doctor and was never employed at the hospital.

To make it more believable, he occasionally tells off the cleaners for not carrying out their duty properly.
Thankfully, according to a hospital employee, the fake doctor never attended to any patients.
How this ‘Dr.Ridzuan’ managed to carry out his antics throughout the year without raising any suspicions, truly baffle us. Seriously, we’re face-palming hard while trying to digest this news.

A senior doctor who noticed something was amiss finally checked hospital records and found out that ‘Dr. Ridzuan’ never existed in their records.
A police report was later lodged against him on Wednesday and ‘Dr.Ridzuan’ was later detained by the hospital security guards. But surprisingly, he was released later.
However, according to news reports on Thursday, the police have arrested the unknown man.
Kota Setar Deputy OCPD Supt Yazri Ismail told The Star that they are now “studying the closed-circuit television camera footage at the hospital to identify him.”
The police will also send this mysterious ‘Dr.Ridzuan’ for a mental-health check up to see whether he is mentally stable.
Well folks, guess we’ll have to wait and see until the police reveals who this man really is and whether he is actually sane.
