According to a report by Bernama, Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah confirmed that investigations have been launched.
He said that he was told that the recording for the show was done before the Movement Control Order (MCO) 3.0 was enforced and that it had been approved by the National Film Development Corporation (Finas).
“So, in terms of timing, recording is allowed, and there is approval as well.
“It is just that MCMC will now investigate if there had been standard operating procedure (SOP) violations during the recording process.
"Astro has decided to postpone the programme and I think that is a good decision,” he said.
Police halt investigations into SOP breach
Meanwhile, a report by AstroAwani confirmed that the police have dropped investigating the matter.Putrajaya police chief ACP Mohd Fadzil Ali said that the decision was made after intial investigations showed that the reality singing competition was recorded prior to MCO 3.0.
He added that the National Safety Council (NSC) had also given the producers the greenlight to go ahead with the recording.
"For further details, refer to them (NSC)," he said in the report.
The program was heavily criticised by netizens who claimed that SOPs were not adhered to as the 50 judges on the show did not wear face masks.
Astro eventually decided to suspend the program pending investigations.
