Strangely, we are also seeing a lot more Malaysians going for a jog these days.

Certain activities not allowed

To ensure that Malaysians are living a healthier lifestyle, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has decided to keep all of its parks opened during MCO 2.0, the New Straits Times reported.

Mayor Datuk Mahadi Che Ngah told the daily that those who want to use the parks would have to follow strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Those who visit the parks are subjected to temperature scans and are required to check in with the MySejahtera app.

However, certain areas in the parks such as playgrounds would be closed off to prevent people from gathering around in large numbers.

On top of that, group activities such as aerobics, tai chi and picnics are also strictly not allowed.

How to stay safe

If, for some reason, you just can't take a walk around your neighbourhood and you prefer to drive 5km to the nearest public park, here are a couple of things you can do to ensure that you're safe while working out:

#1 Wear a mask if you're not exercising

While you can wear a face mask while exercising (although it's not recommended), those who are not exercising should definitely always wear a mask. Always have a face mask with you so that you can wear it if you're approaching a large group of people.

#2 Keep your distance

This should be second nature by now. Always ensure that you keep a safe distance between you and the next jogger.
