If you're a guy, you'll definitely know the struggle of letting your hair grow.

On one hand, you want to let it grow 'till it reaches your butt (because we couldn't do it in high school, you see), but on the other hand, you feel so annoyed every time the hair pokes your eyes.

This Vietnamese man, however, definitely had no problem letting his hair grow.

In fact, his hair has never seen a pair of scissors for decades!

Divine calling

Meet the man with his long hair.
According to Reuters, Nguyen Van Chien has made a decision to keep his hair long and continue to let it grow as long as he is alive.

As a matter of fact, it has been 80 years since he last had a haircut and as a result, it has grown to 5 meters long.

The 92-year-old, who hails from the southern Mekong Delta region, said that it was his calling to let his hair grow because he believes that whatever a person is born with should be left untouched.

“I believe if I cut my hair I will die. I dare not to change anything, not even combing it.

“I only nurture it, cover it in a scarf to keep it dry and clean and looking nice,” said Nguyen, who worships nine powers and seven gods.

The last time he cut his hair was when he was in third grade, but he left school soon after and from then on, he decided to never cut, comb or wash it again.

Longer and older than most of us.
“I remembered my hair was black, thick and strong. I combed it, untangled it to make it smooth. But when I heard the calling from the divine power, I knew immediately that I was chosen.

“I touched my hair and overnight it has became really hard. It has attached to my head and became a thing of its own,” he was further quoted as saying.

According to the report, Luom, his fifth son, helps him take care of his locks.

We pray that Nguyen Van Chien would be able to keep his hair till he is 100 years old. That would be something, right?
