Mike Tyson Says Fat Shaming Motivated Him To Lose 38kgs
Fat shaming is a huge problem and it seems like no one can escape it.
The latest victim is heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
The 54-year-old lost 38kgs and recently revealed that it was due to fat shaming.
He also said that shedding all that weight was also to prepare for his comeback fight with Roy Jones Jr which has been postponed to November 28 due to COVID-19.
Dealing with a number of addictions
Previously, Tyson had blamed cocaine and alcohol for his weight gain after retirement.
“At one time I was just 41kgs overweight. I was doing cocaine, I was drinking, and I said Allah if he can stop me from being this way, I’ll change my whole life."
“And eventually, I got married, my life started to change, and I started working out,” he told TMZ Sports, as reported by Malay Mail.
He said that he refused to take fat shaming negatively and used it as motivation to lose weight.
Sounds like body shaming was just one of the many issues in Tysons life.
We're happy he's on the right track now.
